Nazca Lines Flight, Galeras Reserve, Inca Terraces in Andamarca, and Andean condor flights
The idea of this tour is to combine the flight over the Nazca Lines with a visit to the Pampa Galeras National Reserve, 83 kilometers from Nazca. This area, reaching the Sondondo Valley, is a region of sacred mountains, where the condors have made their kingdom, and men – following in the footsteps of their ancestors – carve the mountains with love and wisdom.
There are colorful festivities associated with these beautiful terraces: the Feast of the Crosses (May), and the Feast of Water or Yarqa qallay (August). The scissors dance, the Cultural Patrimony of Humanity, is always present in them.
From the viewpoint of Moyobamba Condors, you will be able to observe up to 35 large condors flying a few meters from you, as they leave their roosts in flight to the watering holes and feeding places.
After two hours of enjoying the flight of the condors from the lookout point, you can go to a point at the foot of the drinking trough (15 minutes by car or 40 minutes walking), where you can continue watching them for more than an hour.
You can visit the Baths of Huancane, which additionally allows you to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Andean zone.
You can also visit the stands of Puyas de Raimondi that summon dozens of bird species every morning – an ideal spot for birdwatchers. This is an excellent place to see hummingbirds, and when they bloom, they are visited by the elusive giant hummingbird.
